UNDERSTANDING

When the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do You speak to the people in parables?”

He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.”

Jesus then revealed a few verses later, “When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not UNDERSTAND it, the evil one has comes to snatch away what was sown in their heart. This is the (good) seed sown along the hardened path.”

Understanding the kingdom doesn’t come from seminaries and advanced theological degrees. That’s called consensus, not understanding.

Jesus’ greatest disciples, servants, and slaves were, and have always been, ordinary men and women who truly have been born again by the Holy Spirit and are instructed by God Himself (see John 14:6; Ezk 36:26; Jer 31:34; Eph 4:14; Heb 8:11).

Understanding is the supernatural work of God to those whom He chooses to reveal the mysteries of the kingdom. It’s an offer available to everyone.

So why doesn’t everyone understand? Why do many Christians spend more time criticizing than serving? Why do they desire titles like “deacon,” “elder,” and “teacher”? Why do they lack understanding about the things they so confidently affirm (see 1 Tim 1:7)?

Because, they have more in common with lost people conformed to the pattern of the world than with Christ (Mark 10:42-45). They are fools who, like dogs returning to their vomit, have strayed from the path of understanding and chosen instead to lie down with the assembly of the dead (Pr 21:16).

John 3:19 reveals, “And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light…”

Yes, we were created in the image of God. His Spirit is in us to guide us to Truth and Righteousness, for those that search. We were also created with Free Will. God is not a dictator. We have to CHOOSE to know and follow him . (Otherwise we would all be AI; and who wants a love that is artificial and not FREELY given?) 1 Corinthians 2:6-15. For in Christ all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. Colossians 2:3
