Update Music News
Every Sunday evening at 5:30, we gather for worship rehearsal to prepare for Sunday mornings as well as off campus concerts which we enjoy serving others with our talents. Whether it's a nearby church, assisted living facility, or just out in a local park, God is blessing our choir as we "make a joyful noise" unto Him.
Music Ministry
The music ministry at Poetry Baptist Church is dedicated to exalting the great name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe God can and does use His music to lift up and encourage the hearts of His people and to attract those that do not know Him. The mission is to always point all people to Christ.
The band and choir members work hard in rehearsal to present excellent music. We strive for excellence because of the majesty and holiness of our Great Savior. “Performing” music for the congregation is never our intention. Rather, we see ourselves as “ministers” of music, desiring the Lord to use the talents that He has given us to glorify His name through us. When the choir or soloists sing, or the instrumentalists play, it is always after much prayer and with a heart for pointing others to Jesus.
We encourage all who would like to be a part of this celebration to come and be a part. If we exalt ourselves we will always fail (Prov. 16:18). If we exalt Jesus we are “…blessed with every spiritual blessing…” (Eph. 1:3). He is the only One worthy of praise.
So, come and join us. You will experience the love, fellowship and blessing of God and His people as we praise His wonderful name together.
