However, we've been here way before the internet got up and running. As a matter of fact, we have been in the area longer than any other Baptist Church. We have a marker out front declaring existence since 1855, as the oldest Baptist Church in Kaufman County. That's right...over 150 years ago!
Long before we possessed a website such as this, we had websites all over the church from spiders. We still have a few of those websites today, but we are proud to present this site to you for information and interaction. You won't get caught with sticky stuff in your hair by walking through these pages, but we hope you will get caught reading our ministry opportunities as well as our personnel who love the Lord and want to be of service to you and your family.

We love encouraging others to "seek first the Kingdom of God," for we believe there is no greater satisfaction in this life than to obtain "abundant life" given from our Lord Jesus Christ. You will only find heaven as you find Jesus. There are a lot of people who know about Jesus, but that is not enough. You must know Him and confess Him in your heart. The Bible says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" [Romans 10:9].

You may ask, "saved" from what, or "saved" for what? The Bible says that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;" and "the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus our Lord" [Romans 3:23 and 6:23]. It is only as we know Jesus Christ and confess Him that we can submit to His ways and experience abundant life now, while having eternal life hereafter.

You may have found Poetry Baptist Church website, but if you do not find Jesus, this site offers no hope. We pray that you will experience Jesus and find heaven instead. Let that be the marker for your life and the future God has in store for you. Come discover Poetry, and you just might find heaven.Pointing the Way, John 3:16Dr. Robert A.
